Safe Coach: Risk Management

Risk Management explores the systems, habits, and practical tools that help coaches reduce risk before, during, and after every open water session.  Through self-paced lessons, practical readings, real-world case studies, decision-making frameworks, charts, checklists, self-assessments, and course assessments, you'll learn how to identify hazards, evaluate conditions, communicate effectively, prepare for emergencies, document decisions, and foster a culture of safety within your coaching environment. You'll develop practical skills to recognize how small factors can compound in open water and apply structured approaches to managing risk across a wide range of coaching situations. Includes: Self-paced online lessons Practical readings and field guides Real-world case studies Risk management frameworks and decision tools Charts, checklists, and visual resources Self-assessments Course assessments Immediate online access Safe Coach: Risk Management is one of the two required courses in the Safe Coach Foundations curriculum. Certification pathway: Safe Coach: Decision Making and Safe Coach: Risk Management are both required to earn the Safe Coach Foundations certification.
